Exciting Opportunity in Coachella Valley
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations has awarded the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) 3 grants to support an Outreach Coordinator in 3 remote California areas: Blythe, Susanville, and Corcoran. Since Blythe has a population of less than 20,000 people, the Outreach Coordinator will focus on the Coachella Valley. An individual familiar with the Coachella Valley community is sought.
The Outreach Coordinator will work on recruiting participants to attend AVP’s workshops on conflict resolution and community building. Once community members have participated in a Basic, an Advanced , and a Training for Facilitators more workshops could be offered in service clubs, schools, churches, Ironwood State Prison, Chuckawalla State Prison,or whatever venue is needed. The workshops can be adapted to fit needs and schedules.
