Open House Introduces Health Care Partners and Colleagues to Increase Presence

VNA California celebrated the opening of the Palm Springs resource center on Thursday, April 18, 2013 with an open house for the health care community, colleagues and partners.

As the need for in-home skilled nursing, rehabilitative, palliative and hospice services increases, VNA California will have greater presence throughout the valley.  “We recognize that the West Valley, especially Palm Springs, has unique needs” commented VNA California, CEO, Mike Rusnak.  With consumers taking a greater role in choosing their health care providers, they want and need more information to make informed decisions.  “We are seeing a significant increase in the need for hospice services.  We want to be accessible and ready for every inquiry. By increasing our West Valley presence, we will be more available to patients, physicians and health care facilities with the resources that we are known for delivering.  ” he continued.  The non-profit provides a complete continuum of home care as well as providing community based information and programs that focus on health, wellness and choice.

Kathy Greco, CEO of Desert Healthcare District was on-hand for the Open House. “We applaud VNA California for expanding their footprint into Palm Springs” she commented.  “VNA California  will not only fill a need in Palm Springs and the West Valley but will also be a partner in reaching out to the community with valuable health care information” she concluded.

During 2012, the Palm Desert branch serviced over 3,600 patients with 77,121 home health, rehabilitative, palliative and hospice visits throughout the Coachella Valley. VNA California expects this to increase significantly in 2013.

CEO, Mike Rusnak and Board Chair, Ray Mastalish, who lives in Palm Springs greeted guests at the Open House and talked with them about the community programs planned.

VNA California continues to be an integral part of the Coachella Valley Health Care community as they work with their partners and health care colleagues to ensure that people understand the health care options and choices available within the community.
