The Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre (CV Rep), the place for innovative local theatre, announces its second production of the 2012-13 season, Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks by Richard Alfieri. This internationally acclaimed play will be directed by Ron  Celona and is scheduled to run at the CV Rep Theatre in Rancho Mirage from January 23-February 10, 2013.

Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks follows the unlikely relationship of Lilly Harrison, a formidable, headstrong widow of a Southern Baptist Minister and Michael Minetti, a gay dance instructor who is hired to give her private lessons – one per week for six weeks.  Lily and Michael turn antagonism into compassion as they discover a profound connection while dancing the Tango, Waltz, Cha-Cha and Swing.

“In this day and age, tolerance, acceptance and compassion are needed more than ever. Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks shows how two people are challenged to understand the meaning of these human needs while dancing their way to the truth about themselves and each other. In this play, dance lessons are not the only thing being taught each week,’’ comments CV REP Artistic Director, Ron Celona.

Since its Los Angeles premiere and Broadway opening, Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks has become a global hit with performances in more than 20 countries.

This life–affirming human comedy will star seasoned actors, Bobbi Stamm as Lily and Sean Galuszka as Michael, and will be performed at the CV Repertory Theatre located in The Atrium at 69-930 Highway 111 Rancho Mirage, CA 92270.
