Old Town Artisan Studio Sets “Hearts for Art” Gala Jan. 6 At La Quinta Resort
Old Town Artisan Studio is sponsoring its first-ever “Hearts for Art” Gala Jan. 6, 2013 to raise funds for providing free clay sculpting and glass making classes to the underserved youth and seniors in the Coachella Valley.

Guest sculptor Georgia Gerber will be working on a new work during the gala. One of her signature works also will be part of the live auction.

Victory Grund, founder of Old Town Artisan Studio, said the Hearts For Art gala, through a generous donation from the La Quinta Resort and Club, will make sure that “art never becomes a lost art.”
” My dream is to have representatives from each non-profit group in the Coachella Valley we serve and tables reserved from every county club and community,” she said. “We have had an amazing response so far and believe that many are catching the dream with us.”
Old Town Artisan Studio invites persons of all ages to reveal their artistic expressions through the medium of clay, Bisque pottery and fused glass. Studio use, blended with fee exempt (free) instruction, is offered to numerous charities serving the interest of youth, special needs and seniors throughout the Coachella Valley. They include Boys and Girls Club of the Coachella Valley, Salvation Army, United Cerebral Palsy, Indio Teen Center, Indio Senior Center, Mourning Star and many more.
About Old Town Artisan Studio: a 501(c)(3) public charity. Classes and private instruction are available with professional instructors. Clay techniques include: throwing pots on the wheel, sculpting for clay finish or bronze, hand building, life casting, glazing and kiln firing. The studio gallery displays and sells the resident artists.The studio also provides glass fusion jewelry class. participation in these classes allows Old Town Artisan Studio to conduct classes for underserved children and adults and other charitable groups. The studio can accommodate parties and social events on a prearranged basis.
